JAGUAR XKR-S

We are delighted to offer this exceptional and very rare Jaguar XK-RS 4.2 Coupe for sale.

 

A limited run of 200 of these very special vehicles were made for the European market only. Of those only 50 were RHD.

 

The model included the following features; Lightweight forged 20-inch alloy wheels, firmer springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, steering which is 10 per cent quicker and the ride height lowered by 10mm. It also gets race-bred brake callipers, six-piston Alcon brakes at the front with four-piston on the back which not only improve stopping power but also reduce unsprung mass. The exterior gets a unique and subtle bodykit highlighted in graphite grey. The interior was upgraded to Portfolio spec which includes extended leather to the dash and door cards with a white contrast stitching. A 500W Bowers & Wilkins audio system was also fitted. The roof lining was also upgraded to alcantara.

 

Its' last keeper was a serial Jaguar owner, enthusiast, historical racing driver and fellow JEC member. He bought it back in 2013 from Marshall's Jaguar in Cambridge. At the time it showed as having a total of 2 owners however he was told the first registered keeper was a company and the second was the companies owner, so in effect it had just 1 driver at this point in time.

 

This XK-RS formed part of his collection which included a beautiful E-Type and many other cars he had raced most notably at Le Mans. The last owner wrote a lovely letter about his time with the vehicle and it includes some of his historic racing highlights and photos. Initially he used Marshalls (Jaguar) for servicing but then felt the workshop (Prothero's) he used for the rest of his collection (Incl. his racing cars) were significantly better and had them look after it thereafter. The last owner also noted that it rarely, if ever, saw the rain and has been kept garaged throughout his tenure.

 

Available only in Ultimate black metallic with contrasting graphite grey body styling. The interior again was only available in upgraded Warm Charcoal soft grain nappa leather with contrasting white stitching and charcoal Alcantara headlining.

SPM our local and highly regarded Jaguar workshop have just done a fully documented pre-delivery inspection & service on this vehicle for us . They have rebuilt the front "Alcon" callipers and have also treated the underside with "Lanoguard". We have fitted a new like for like replacement Alcantara headliner as the original item was beginning to sag a little at the rear.

 

The vehicle comes with all its' original handbooks (Incl. The model specific "Rs" embossed folder), "RS" Sales brochure, Build specification certificate and 2 Keys.

  In addition there is a file of invoices etc. which would keep the most avid of enthusiasts busy for some time.

 

I hate to use the old and overused adage that it needs to be seen to be believed. However this really is an incredible and very rare car and I doubt that you could find a nicer one.

 

Values of these models have been rising significantly of late. With only 50 produced in right hand drive 18 years ago, many have been written off, abused , or have high mileage. Consequently there is an ever decreasing pool of collectable low mileage cars to choose from. Whilst we don't have the benefit of a crystal ball I suspect this future classic represents an excellent investment and I will no doubt regret selling it !!!
